Why I'm Running for Superior Court Judge

As the fourth generation of my family to call our community home, I care deeply about protecting our citizens and way of life. This is why I have spent most of my career as a public servant, working as a prosecutor in the District Attorney’s Office. I am passionately committed to the law and to seeking justice to keep our families and loved ones safe.

Now, as my husband and I are raising our own daughter here, it is more important than ever to ensure that our community remains a great place to live, work, and worship. This is why I am running for Superior Court Judge. I know firsthand that the decisions made by our judges have a significant impact on our way of life, and I am ready to put my proven experience, our shared values, and my commitment to the law and justice to work for you.

Meet Lauren

Running for Judge isn’t about gaining a new title or recognition. It’s about service and doing whatever it takes to keep our families safe from harm.

Experienced Prosecutor

As a prosecutor, I have handled over 1,500 cases across our Judicial Circuit, including more than 25 jury trials involving serious violent offenses, such as aggravated assaults on police officers, residential burglaries, complex financial crimes, and drug trafficking. Additionally, I have successfully prosecuted numerous child sexual abuse cases throughout the Cordele Circuit, bringing some of the worst of our society—those who harm children—to justice.

It has not always been easy. These cases can be devastating, but it is important work. I proudly stood with victims, held violent criminals accountable, and protected the most vulnerable among us. My work as a prosecutor has given me an intimate knowledge of the court system and the wisdom to make tough decisions. This is the proven experience and ability we need in our next Superior Court Judge.

Civil Experience

In addition to my extensive background in prosecution, I also have experience in civil practice. While working at Lawson & Reid, LLC, in Cordele, Georgia, I handled cases involving labor and employment law, local governments and municipalities, personal injury, agricultural law, trusts and estates, real estate, and general civil litigation. I understand the specific challenges faced by small business owners and worked tirelessly to help them achieve their goals.

The Trusted Choice for Judge

Because of my extensive background in both criminal and civil practice, I am uniquely prepared to serve as your next Superior Court Judge. I have the experience and values needed to effectively serve as your Judge. I will serve with integrity, uphold the law, and make our community proud. I hope to earn your vote.

Lauren's Commitment to You

Ensure Justice Is Done to Protect Our Families

I am running for Superior Court Judge because of my passion for service to our community and families. Nothing is more important than keeping our families safe. That is why I have devoted most of my career to prosecuting serious crimes. As your next Superior Court Judge, while I will be fair and will follow the law, I will not flinch when it comes down to handing down the toughest sentences under the law for violent offenders who harm or threaten the safety or lives of our citizens.

Common Sense & Efficiency

Courtroom experience and knowledge of the law are vital components of serving as judge, but common sense is also essential. As someone who manages hundreds of cases on a regular basis, I will use my experience as a seasoned trial lawyer to institute common sense scheduling practices that streamline the court process. I will respect the time of everyone appearing before the Court, while also being a good steward of taxpayer dollars. As a working mother, I understand the challenges faced by parents and guardians, especially regarding scheduling and child care. As Judge, I will minimize inconvenience to jurors, law enforcement, and attorneys.

Fairness

Having handled countless cases in every courtroom in our Judicial Circuit, I know well that a Judge’s decisions affect lots of people. Approaching cases with wisdom and compassion for others affords a judge the opportunity to hold people accountable for their actions under the law but to also extend grace when appropriate. This is the type of Judge I will be.

Serve With Honor & Integrity

Although we undoubtedly need a judge with the requisite experience to the do the job, we also need a Judge who shares our values. Most people across our Circuit have more in common than we realize and share the same values that were instilled in me growing up on the farm—treating the waitress with the same respect as the restaurant owner, working harder than anyone else in the room, holding people accountable for their actions, offering a helping hand to those in need, and guiding our actions by our faith in God. These are the values I will bring to the bench with me every day. I will treat everyone who appears before me in the courtroom with dignity and respect, no matter their financial status, race, background, or political beliefs. These values, the law, my experience, and a commitment to ensuring justice is done will be my guide to making wise decisions.
